Taco shells

I don't know where this recipe came from (besides my mom) or if many people know how easy it is to make your own taco shells that taste a million times better than store bought ones so I thought i would post it.

This is the recipe I grew up with, my husband grew up with a different recipe, I think his mom makes them with just flour, water and salt and they are delicious as well. 

 Here is the recipe. Knead, divide into 8 balls then roll each out thin and fry on a hot dry skillet. My mother-in-law makes each one perfectly round with a large tupperware bowl (used like a cookie cutter) but my mom never did that and i usually can't be bothered so mine are kind of crazy shaped.

Oh, and toddlers LOVE helping roll them out.

healthy ice cream

This is nothing new, I didn't invent it and would have never thought of it. Banana's aren't my favorite fruit so not someone I would have come up with. 

My hubby and daughter, however, love banana's so I thought i would give it a go, and I was pretty curious to see what it was like.

cute bananas. I did all but 2 of this bunch, although Aurora was snacking while I was cutting them.

 froze the slices

 blend with cocoa powder, vanilla, a little milk and a teensy bit of of half and half
Put in little bowls and put some chocolate sauce on just to make it yummier

 Oh, and here's is Aurora's hairstyle today. She's been a little rambunctious so we went for something quick and easy

Mmmmm Cake!

My mom is quite a talented lady I have to say, the woman can sew like nothing else, she paints, she sketches, she cooks and bakes and crafts all kinds of things. I also have to add that she would freak out if she heard me saying that because she is a little too humble. :)

A couple at her church asked her to make their wedding cake, they are getting married tomorrow and really wanted a tree stump wedding cake. I have to say I thought that was a pretty strange request but the cake looks pretty awesome.
