Monster stuffies

Starting Preschool again after the holiday is proving to be difficult. There seems to be so much to still do to catch up to normal life.
Aurora has been working a lot on her verses though. She got a bit sloppy on her older ones over Christmas so we are working on getting those all fresh in her mind again. She is working on a new one too.
We should start full school again this week.
Yesterday my mom and I worked on the monster stuffies for Aurora's party. Each kid who comes gets to adopt a monster. They are all sewed and stuffed now awaiting names and personalities.

I will post pictures of them finished soon.

Monster cake

Aurora has some friends who can't make it to her birthday party so we had a little party with them this past weekend.
Her party is going to be a monster party so along with that theme I made a monster cake for the night. It's an adaptation of this one on Pinterest

melty monster

I think Gideon migh be starting to teeth, he's chewing his hands a lot.
I've been wanting to try melted crayon art with Aurora for months but haven't gotten around o it.Finally today we did.
We blocked out the shape of a monster with masking tape the picked our colors and hot glued them on the canvas
then used the hair dryer for a while till it got really drippy

then took off the tape and since some color had gotten under the tape we painted the monster
 she thinks he's pretty funny

what we've been up to...

A has been enjoying her new wall chalkboard, she's learning how to draw snakes and people (at least she is trying, the ones there are ones i did, she keeps making me do them for her)

These guys are for something we are making or A's 3rd birthday party, the project isn't done yet but i like them so far.
These are not done yet either (obviously) but here they are so far, nursery art. I have to add outlines, and embellishments still.
Here are quiet books I've been working on for the kids. Like everything else in this post, they are not done yet, this is what I have so far...
Covers
A gardening page in A's book...
A driving page in G's (not finished have to decide what else to add to this page)
A dress up page in A's ha ha. I think the girl is pretty crazy looking but oh well. A likes her. It's hard to tell in the picture but the mirror is from an old CD so it actually reflects.
That's just a bit of what we've been up to lately besides feeding G every few hours and changing his diapers and washing them. I'm using cloth diapers this time. I planned to do that with A but chickened out in the end. This time I discovered Snappies though and they are making my life wonderful!!! Diaper pins are what freaked me out most last time (I have mostly prefolds and  I was worried about poking her)

finger puppets

The felt monster finger puppets we've made. Monsters are so fun because you can make them look crazy and use different sized eyes and it's all just part of their "charm".
A really likes these guys. She's having a monster birthday party this year and these guys will be part of it.
